During the Ripple Swell 2023 event in Dubai, CEO Brad Garlinghouse stated that he discourages maximalists and believes in a multichain future. He said, “I am very bullish about a whole bunch of different things going on in crypto. I certainly am active in trying to dissuade people from being maximalists about any particular crypto. It will be a multichain world.”
Garlinghouse also discussed the catalysts for further institutional adoption of crypto, citing regulatory clarity and demonstrated utility as key factors. He compared the regulatory frameworks in the U.S. and Dubai, stating that the U.S. is lagging behind in creating clear rules for crypto. He emphasized the importance of demonstrated utility over speculation, stating that speculation alone is not the end goal of crypto adoption.
