Many Bitcoin believers have permanently etched a Bitcoin logo, motif, equation or slogan onto their skin as a symbol of their support for the decentralized movement and the values it represents. Didi Taihuttu, father of the “Bitcoin family,” got a Bitcoin tattoo on his arm when he sold his family’s possessions and went “all in on Bitcoin.” Anita Posch has a lightning bolt tattooed on her arm, a nod to the Lightning Network, while TatumTurnUP has the Bitcoin supply formula on his bicep. Despite the risks of bad operational security, including doxing, Bitcoin advocates Laura and Rikki proudly display their Bitcoin tattoos. While some may worry about what will happen if Bitcoin crashes and burns, Taihuttu believes that those with tattoos representing the traditional financial system may be more at risk than those with Bitcoin tattoos.
