El Salvador’s Central Bank (BCR) has announced that it has approved 80 Bitcoin service providers to legally operate within the country.
These approved service providers cover a range of companies, including CHIVO S.A. DE C.V., responsible for the official government Bitcoin wallet known as Chivo, cryptocurrency exchanges like Paxos, 503 Escrow, Bitcapital, Niu, and others.

- The increasing number of cryptocurrency services approved by the El Salvador Central Bank demonstrates the country’s continued support for Bitcoin adoption and use, while inviting international companies to assist with this effort.
- The current registry now includes almost 58 cryptocurrency exchanges, many of which offer Bitcoin storage and custody services.
- In addition, two registered companies NEO TECH FUTURE and QUICKIPAY provide Bitcoin ATM services, which could potentially increase the number of ATMs in the country. According to Statista, there are currently 204 Bitcoin ATMs in El Salvador.
