Twitter has incorporated Bitcoin (BTC) price quotes on its social media platform, accessible through its search tool.
These price quotes originate from TradingView, a charting platform, and were introduced around April 18. Alongside the quotes, there is a link to the Israeli crypto exchange, eToro, enabling users to buy or sell Bitcoin. At present, it appears only Bitcoin quotes are available, and not those of other cryptocurrencies. A disclaimer with the label “Your Capital At Risk” is also displayed beside the Bitcoin chart.
Cointelegraph reported on April 13 that Twitter would soon offer in-app crypto and stock trading options through eToro. A representative stated, “Twitter has become a really important part of the retail investing community, and it’s where a lot of people go to access financial news and acquire knowledge. We think $Cashtags can play a central role in this conversation, and they are already gaining a lot of traction.»
On April 17, Elon Musk also announced the creation of “TruthGPT,” an artificial intelligence program. He was inspired by the achievements of the previously developed AI chatbot, ChatGPT. According to Musk, TruthGPT will counterbalance what he perceives as “left-wing” media bias .

Twitter is not the first major social platform to incorporate Bitcoin price quotes. On April 10, Douyin, the Chinese variation of TikTok, launched Bitcoin quotes for around 730 million mainland China users. A day later, the quotes were removed and substituted with a caution message informing users that “unofficial digital currencies do not possess the same legal standing as fiat currencies [in China].”
