Bitcoin Reclaims $28K, Closed its Third Best March in History (Weekend Watch)

Bitcoin has rebounded in the last few hours of March, and has reclaimed its position over $28,000, posting a 23% increase in price for the third month of the year. Several altcoins, including ETH and SOL, are also performing well and have seen significant gains.

BTC Back Above $28K

The primary cryptocurrency has seen significant price fluctuations in the past few days. On Monday, it briefly fell by $1,500 following the US CFTC lawsuit against Binance and Changpeng Zhao. However, the bulls quickly intercepted the move and pushed the asset higher. Bitcoin then surged past $29,000, but the gains were short-lived as the digital currency started losing value quickly. The currency hit a low of $27,600 on Friday, but on the last day of March, it regained over $1,000 in just a few hours, reaching a daily high of $28,800 (on Bitstamp). Despite some recent dips, BTC continues to trade above $28,000 and stands in the green on a daily scale. Its market capitalization is nearing $550 billion, and its dominance over altcoins is approximately 46.5%.

LTC, TONCOIN on the Rise

Most alternative coins have also seen their fair share of volatility lately, but many have calmed down as the weekend has begun. Ethereum’s price has increased by 2%, and it is back over $1,800. Binance Coin remains at approximately the same level as yesterday. Cardano, MATIC, Polkadot, Shiba Inu, Tron, and Avalanche have mirrored ETH’s gains. Ripple, one of the best performers in the past ten days, is down by 6%, but it still trades above $0.5. Litecoin and TONCOIN have surged the most from the top 20 alts, with LTC up by $6 and sitting at $93, while TONCOIN has grown in value by 8% in a day and stands at $2.25. The total crypto market cap has erased its losses from Friday and is close to $1.2 trillion on CMC again.
